Come out and join our free group runs from Strides! Group runs go every Saturday morning from the store at 9:00 am.
All levels are welcome! And... join us every 3rd Saturday of the month
for the Strides Cookie Run, go for a run, enjoy a cookie and coffee
afterwards, call the store for more details!
Foundations for Training
The following programs will provide you with the foundations of
training, however we recommend that you join a group lead by a properly
trained instructor to ensure your training is taylored appropriately!

2010 Spring Run Your First 10K – Half Marathon Clinic
Starting Wednesday March 17th (download information)
If you are able to run 5 kilometres or can run a half an hour and would like to try increasing your distance to 10 kilometres then this clinic can help. If you can already run 10 kilometres and wonder if you could finish a half marathon this clinic will help you get across the finish line. Coached by Bruce Dreury, this clinic is designed to help you complete either the Downtown Sports Clinic10K or Centaur Subaru Half Marathon races that are part of the Scotiabank Calgary Marathon Race weekend on May 30.
2010 Spring Beginner Running Clinic

Running is a great way to stay fit and reduce stress but it’s hard to get started on your own. Join our Beginner Running Clinic and we will have you running in no time. You’ll have a chance to run with other people who share similar goals and who knows, you might decide to enter the Astrazeneca 5K event at this year’s Scotiabank Calgary Marathon held on May 30.
2010 Spring 10K – Half Marathon Training Clinic
Starting Tuesday March 16th (download information)
We would all like to train hard and run that perfect race where we set a personal record. Unfortunately we often don’t know the best way to train. This clinic is designed to take the experienced runner to the next level. Not to increase distance as much as to decrease time. Learn about interval training and tempo runs from respected coach Heather Wiebe, then pick your race from the many events offered at the 2010 Scotiabank Calgary Marathon weekend on May 30.
All clinics start at 6:30pm from the store.
