Clinics from STRIDES FISH CREEK:

Spring 10k Clinic

  • Coached by Lauren Milburn
  • Starts Tuesday, March 20th
  • $100 for 10 weeks
  • This clinic will focus on building strength and mileage over 10 weeks, introducing intervals, hills, tempo runs and learning to vary running intensities for the 10K distance.
  • Group workouts on Tuesday evenings (6:30pm) and Saturday mornings (9:00am)
  • It is recommended that participants be able to run 20-30 minutes at clinic start

Spring Learn to run Clinic

  • Coached by Wendi Moore
  • Starts Tuesday, May 1st
  • $100 for 10 weeks
  • No running experience necessary – just a willingness to commit to a fun group!
  • Group workouts on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:30pm.
  • Group will focus on building running endurance, with a goal of completing the Stampede Road Race 5K race by the end
    of the clinic.

Winter Personal Best (10K/Half) Clinic

  • Coached by Dawn Ladds & Don Bambury
  • Starts Wednesday, January 10th
  • Group workouts on Wednesday evenings (6:30pm) & runs on Saturday mornings (9:00am)
  • Designed for anyone who would like to do interval/hill training with a group through the winter.
  • Due to the nature of the workouts, it is strongly recommended that participants be able to
    comfortably run 10K prior to starting this clinic.
  • Clinic goals: Original St. Pat’s Race (March 11th ) &/or Run for L’Arche (March 24th )

Winter/Spring Half Marathon/Full Marathon Clinic

  • Coached by Kelly Savage
  • Starts Tuesday, January 23rd
  • This clinic will focus on building strength and mileage leading into the Run for L’Arche Half
    Marathon (March 24th), then continue to build (joining the Marda Loop Marathon clinic on
    Saturdays), training for a May Marathon or Half Marathon.
  • Group workouts on Tuesday evenings (6:30pm) & runs on Saturday mornings (9:00am)
  • It is recommended that participants be able to run 10K comfortably at clinic start
  • Clinic goals: Run for L’Arche Half Marathon (March 24th) and May Marathon or Half Marathon.

Progress to 10K Clinic

  • Coached by Lauren Milburn
  • Starts Tuesday January 9th
  • Group workouts on Tuesday evenings (6:30pm) & runs on Saturday mornings (9:00am)
  • It is highly recommended that participants be able to run at least 20 minutes at clinic start
  • A safe, fun environment to encourage participation and improvement
  • An introduction to a variety of running topics including: pacing, running form, goal setting, cross training, injury prevention, equipment selection and nutrition
  • Design for first timers and runners with some experience or returning to running

FREE Drop-in Hill/Interval Workouts

  • Coached by Jenn Alexander
  • Can’t commit to a weekly program? Join Jenn and Lauren every Wednesday evening
    whenever you can make it!
  • Wednesday evenings starting at 6:30pm.

Winter Winter 5K/10K Clinic

  • Coached by Coached by Kourtney Branagan
  • Starts Monday, January 15th
  • Group workouts on Monday evenings (6:30pm) & optional long runs on Saturdays (9:00am)
  • Clinic is designed for runners looking to improve their fitness through the winter months.
  • It is recommended that participants enter this clinic with some prior running experience.
  • Clinic goals: Original St. Pat’s Race 5/10K (March 11th) &/or Run for L’Arche 5mile (March 24th)

Spring Daytime Running Clinic

  • Coached by Andrée Wilson
  • Group runs/workouts on Friday mornings (9:30am) starting April 6th
  • This daytime clinic is baby-stroller friendly!
  • Open to anyone who prefers (and is able) to run during the day.

  • Group workouts on Tuesday evenings (6:30pm) and optional long runs on Saturday mornings (9:00am)
  • Starts Tuesday, April 10th
  • Clinic is designed for runners looking to improve their 10K or Half Marathon times or those who have reached a plateau in their training.
  • Tuesday night sessions will include higher intensity intervals and hills.
  • It is recommended that participants be able to comfortably run 10K prior to joining this clinic.

 

CLINICS FROM STRIDES CANMORE:

Spring Personal Best Clinic

  • Runs April 9th – June 11th
  • Mondays, 12 - 1pm
  • Designed for runners looking to improve their 10k or half marathon times, or those who have reached a plateau in their training
  • Interval/hill training based workouts
  • Goal Race of Banff Marathon (June 17th) or 5 Peaks (June 9th)
  • Clinic will start Early April and is designed for runners looking to improve their 10K or Half Marathon times or those who have reached a plateau in their training.
  • $100 for 10 weeks

Train running for Newbies

  • Two trail running clinics to choose from: Afternoon or Evening.
  • Runs Mondays (April 9th – June 18th from 6:30 - 7:30 PM) OR Wednesdays (April 11th - June 13th from 12 - 1 PM)
  • Interested in trail running but don’t know where to start? Don’t like running alone in the trails? Want to try out a trail running race?
  • Goal race of 5 Peaks (June 9th) or Rundles Revenge (June 24th).
  • $100 for 10 weeks

 

FREE Drop-in Hill/Interval Workouts

  • Coached by Kourtney Branagan (Mondays at 6:30pm) or by Ed Bickley (Wednesdays at 6:00pm)
  • Can’t commit to a weekly program? Join Kourtney or Ed’s groups every Monday or Wednesday evening whenever you can make it! (Standing reservation at the Garrison Pub to follow workout!)
