The Tradition Continues - Melissa’s Road Race is one of Canada’s most historic and popular running events and takes place on September 26th, 2026. Melissa’s features a 5k, 10k and Half Marathon on sensationally scenic routes in and around Banff National Park and routinely sells out. Since 1979, Melissa’s has been described as a colourful display of sport and fun in Banff National Park - famous for its entertainment along the course, contagious spirit, post-run party and long-sleeved commemorative running shirt featuring local art. Melissa’s has received multiple awards as Alberta’s Best Road Race and is a longstanding tradition in Banff.
5 Peaks Central Alberta Series #5 - Weaselhead

7.6km & 14km
Held on the last weekend of September, this beautiful course showcases the autumn colors of the Weaselhead Flats located in southwest Calgary. This 237 hectare park is home to wildlife, plantlife, and hard pack as well as singletrack trails. Connected to the Glenmore Reservoir trail system, participants enjoy a variety of terrain along the course. The Glenmore Reservoir trail system and Weaselhead Flats are both popular meeting spots for community hiking, running, and cycling groups.
Parks2Pints Road Race

Strides Canmore, Salomon, and CAMBA will play host to the 3rd annual Park to Pints road race, offering participants the opportunity for a tune up race before their next marathon or simply to come out with friends, enjoy a 5km or 10km and celebrate with drinks, food, and live music. Park to Pints is a celebration of our community and the 2026 running season, with all proceeds raised from the event going back to our local trail organization.
